Every week, Prima Power prepared around 50 export certificates in Excel. That took 4 hours a week, and every manual step was a chance for errors.
We built an internal desktop application that pulls the data straight from their internal database and generates the certificates as PDFs, ready to print.
Result: the weekly work now takes 5 minutes instead of 4 hours, and fewer errors end up in the certificates.

When is custom software better than an off-the-shelf package?

If an off-the-shelf package covers your process well, we recommend it: it's faster and cheaper. Custom software pays off when you have to bend the way you work around a package, when data is entered twice, or when an important process runs in Excel. Often the best solution is a combination: keep your existing tools and add a small application or integration.
Can the software connect to my accounting or ERP?

Usually, yes. Most accounting, ERP and CRM packages have an API or an export we can connect to. During discovery we look at which systems you use and which data needs to flow through. At Prima Power, for example, the application pulls the data straight from their internal database, so nobody has to retype anything.
Do you build web applications or desktop apps?

Both. What fits best depends on who uses the software and where. A web application works anywhere in the browser and is handy when several people or locations use it. A desktop app sometimes makes more sense for an internal process at one workstation, like the application that generates export certificates as PDFs at Prima Power every week.
